Wipe and Disposable Cover Nonwoven Machine and Line

Wipes typically run light, in the 30 to 80 g/m2 band, and softness comes from fibre choice and from not over-bonding the web. We build these lines around a carding machine tuned for gentle web forming, and where the product needs loft and drape we add cross lapping and needle punching rather than a hard thermal bond. Getting that balance right is the difference between a wipe that feels premium and one that feels like paper.

Disposable covers, the kind used on mattresses, seats, or in medical and travel kits, are usually a touch heavier and want a bit more tensile strength so they do not tear when pulled over an object. The same line handles both by adjusting web weight and bonding intensity, which is exactly the flexibility a daily-life producer needs when order mix shifts week to week.

Drying is where a lot of the fabric feel is set. Our dryer section is sized for the line speed so the web is not scorched or run through damp, and we can add a resin padding dryer where the product needs a binder for extra strength or a specific surface. Even, gentle drying is what keeps a wipe soft after it has been through the whole line.

Edge and length cutting is the last thing the customer sees. A ragged edge on a wipe or a cover reads as poor quality no matter how good the web is. We set up the cross cutter and slitters to give clean square cuts at running speed, and we commission them against your actual product so the tolerances are proven before handover, not promised on paper.

For a greenfield factory setup we handle the whole scope: line design around your building, manufacture in Korea, delivery, installation and commissioning by our own engineers. Wipe and cover lines run fast and long, so we pay particular attention to drive synchronisation and to keeping unplanned downtime low, because on a low-margin product every stopped hour hurts.

We have commissioned this class of line in more than 40 countries and the pattern is always similar: get the mechanical line true, prove out the web and the cut, then train the crew until they can run it and change it over on their own. That last step is the one that keeps the line productive after we have gone home.
