Air Filter Nonwoven Machine and Liquid Filter Line Equipment
Depth media for air and firm supported media for liquids, from one line builder.

Air and liquid filtration pull the media design in different directions, and the machinery has to follow. An air filter nonwoven machine setup is built around loft and dust-holding capacity, while a liquid filter nonwoven line plant needs firmer, dimensionally stable media that will not collapse under differential pressure. We build both, off the same core equipment family, configured differently.
Air filtration: loft and dust-holding capacity
Coarse and medium air filters are depth media. They work by holding dust through their thickness, so the line has to preserve loft rather than crush it. Here the carding machine and cross lapper do most of the work, laying a bulky, evenly distributed web, with light thermal bonding to lock the structure without flattening it.
Run speed is generous for these grades because the web weights are higher and the tolerances are wider than fine media. We size the opening line and carding section for sustained output at those weights, and we build in the dust extraction and filtering that a high-throughput carding room needs so fibre fly does not end up back in the product or on the operators.

Liquid filtration: strength and stability
Liquid filter media lives under real pressure, so it needs mechanical strength and a stable pore structure. For those grades we bring in the needle punching machine to consolidate the web into a firm felt, often over a scrim, and then finishing steps like calendering or resin treatment to set the surface and the pore size.
Needle-punched liquid media is where fibre selection and needling density interact heavily, and it is easy to over-needle and lose permeability while chasing strength. We set the loom's stroke, penetration and advance around the customer's target permeability and burst strength, and we prove it during commissioning with their own fibre rather than a generic recipe.
Configured for your product, supplied complete
The useful part of buying the line from one builder is that switching a plant between air and liquid grades stops being a rebuild and becomes a setup change. We lay the equipment out so the same carding and web-forming front end can feed either thermal bonding for air media or the needle loom for liquid media, which lets a filter plant chase whichever market is paying that year.
KSG Group engineers, builds and installs the whole line, and we stay through start-up until the media meets spec. With more than 30 years of building nonwoven machinery and installations in over 40 countries, we can supply a complete filtration plant quickly and stand behind it long after the line is running. Give us your grades and output and we will put a lineup and a schedule in front of you.
Whether you are equipping for air media, liquid media or both, we can supply the carding, needle punching, bonding and finishing sections as one line and commission it in your plant. Send KSG Group your product targets and we will scope the equipment and the timeline.
