HS (High Speed) Cross Lapper
High-speed layering of carded webs with even weight distribution.

The HS Cross Lapper folds carded fiber webs into layers at high speed and holds tight control over how the weight is distributed across each layer. That even distribution is what sets up the web for the bonding or needle punching that follows, and it is where a cross lapper earns its keep on a high-end line.
A non-contact belt conveyor supports the fiber as it moves, so the web is not stretched, marked or pulled apart during layering. Electronic and mechanical profiling control the mass distribution in real time, while proportional belt centering and balanced tensioning keep the web aligned as the carriage traverses.
Drive hardware is specified for stable running at speed: SIEMENS multi-axis high-efficiency drives, SINAMICS regenerative converters with built-in safety functions, and five brushless motors that deliver smooth, powerful movement through the whole cycle. The machine runs infeed up to 120 m/min and carriage travel up to 130 m/min. It is also known as a web lapper, lapping machine or plaiting machine.

Key Features
High-speed layering
Precise layering of carded webs with infeed up to 120 m/min and carriage travel up to 130 m/min.
Even weight distribution
A compensation system with electronic and mechanical profiling holds consistent mass across the web.
Non-contact web support
A non-contact belt conveyor carries the fiber without damaging or detaching the web.
Accurate alignment
Belt proportional centering and balanced tensioning keep the web aligned as the carriage traverses.
Stable drive package
SIEMENS multi-axis drives, SINAMICS regenerative converters and five brushless motors run smoothly at speed.
