Textile waste recycling lines for recycled felt

How to specify a garment and textile-waste recycling line: material sorting, cutting, opening, fiber trials, felt forming and quotation scope.

Textile waste recycling lines for recycled felt
Guide

A garment factory's offcuts and a collector's used clothing are different feedstocks. Before asking for a recycling line price, define the waste you can supply consistently and what the recovered material must become. A sample of the intended felt is often more useful than a long machine wish list.

Start with the waste stream

Separate production offcuts from used garments and identify fiber blends, fabric construction, coatings, moisture and attachments. Polyester, cotton and acrylic are named in KSG's materials, but a mixed consignment still needs its own assessment.

Choose recovered fiber or finished felt

A fiber-recovery proposal may end after cutting and opening. A felt proposal needs downstream processing too. KSG's supplied example continues through cleaning, storage, feeding, forming, drying and cutting. A pulverize cutter serves a different crushing duty and should not be substituted for an opener.

Agree a material trial that answers the buying question

Send representative material, including the variation expected in normal supply. Discuss recovered-fiber condition, fines, useful yield and the finished felt's weight, thickness and strength. Ask how results will be recorded. Catalogue throughput is not a prediction of yield on untested waste.

Make the quotation comparable

Request the feed and discharge connections, opening-stage arrangement, dust handling, storage, utilities and downstream equipment as one scope. State whether the project stops at recovered fiber or at a finished roll or board. Include parts, operator training and commissioning in the comparison.

Send photos and representative waste samples, the expected incoming quantity and the intended product. KSG can then discuss a recovery route and the trials needed to support an equipment quotation.

Ready to define your project requirements?

Send the information you already have. KSG can then clarify the equipment scope, open questions, and information needed for a meaningful quotation.
